Khaula Mazhar Artist
Self-taught, internationally exhibited artist Khaula Mazhar’s intrigue in emotions evoked by situations and surroundings seeps its way into her multifaceted subject matter. Painting mostly with acrylics, and when her patience allows, oils, she conveys feelings that range from festive and lively, tranquil and contemplative to nostalgic and melancholy. An avid admirer of Rumi, much of her work is inspired by his writing. Two of her major exhibitions have focused on women’s empowerment and issues and her figurative work often portrays women’s resilience and their amazing ability to evolve.
A part of numerous private and public collections her work can also be seen around the GTA as part of public art projects, street art, and art exhibits. Her work been in several juried shows and received certificates of recognition and merit. She has been invited both by former Premier Kathleen Wynne and Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath’s offices to exhibit her work for Islamic Heritage month receptions. She is a member of the Toronto West Arts Collaborative, the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Color and Form Society and the Mississauga Arts Council as well as a regular competitor at Art Battle. This is not an e-book, but I wrote it when I lived in Pakistan, so it is only available in shops there. I had also written a novel there that won a commendation certificate from the National Book Foundation in Islamabad. I am still fixing it up along with two other YA novels I have written. I plan to barrage the NYT best-seller list all at once. Seriously, one day I am going to make some lucky Agent very happy.
